Patient Care & Assistance:

• Provide high-quality care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort throughout dental procedures.
• Prepare patients for dental work by taking vital signs, and medical and dental histories.
• Assist dentists during examinations, fillings, extractions, and other treatments by passing instruments and providing suction.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, post-treatment care, and plaque control programs.
• Assist in managing dental emergencies, making quick decisions on behalf of the patient.
• Manage patients during dental procedures and treatment plans.
• Conduct preliminary oral health assessments.
• Fabricate temporary restorations.
• Ensure patient comfort throughout the visit.
• Coordinate treatment plans and patient follow-ups.
  

Technical Skills:

• Take and process dental X-rays to ensure high-quality images for accurate diagnostics.
• Take dental impressions for study models and appliances.
• Apply dental sealants and fluoride treatments as directed.
• Perform routine maintenance on dental equipment.

Sterilization & Infection Control:

• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
• Enforce strict infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Prepare the treatment room.

Administrative & Clerical Duties:

• Maintain and accurately update patient records, including medical history and dental charting.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments to ensure smooth practice operations.
• Handle administrative tasks such as billing and coding.
• Manage the inventory of dental equipment and supplies.
• Answer calls.

Documentation & Communication:

• Support dentists with dental charting and procedure documentation.
• Record detailed clinical notes and patient interactions.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and clients.
• Follow the postoperative instructions as directed by your dentist.

Professional Development:

• Stay current in the profession through ongoing education and certifications.
